About Old Fashioned Way (OFW)
Our Story Old Fashioned Way (OFW) is a Filipino-owned brand founded by Jay and Darnel, two Filipino Americans who have set out to embrace their dual identities. Jay grew up in Manila while Darnel was raised in Washington. Together, they bring unique perspectives shaped by their individual experiences and shared heritage. Through OFW, they’ve created a brand that seamlessly blends Filipino and American identities. Each piece created reflects this journey of navigating and honoring both sides of who we are, bridging the gap between tradition and modernity.
Our Mission At OFW, we are dedicated to tradition, inspired by innovation. Our mission is to use various mediums to express our personal experiences, creating a brand that resonates with individuals who share similar stories and challenges. By sharing our journey through art, design, and fashion, we aim to attract like-minded people and build a community of support and inspiration.
Beyond creative expression, we remain committed to giving back to the communities that raised us and the families that shaped us. We envision a future where OFW can make a tangible impact in underserved areas by building schools, providing essential resources like school supplies, and addressing educational disparities. Our goal is to create a legacy that not only uplifts future generations but also serves as a beacon of hope and resource for those navigating the intersection of culture, identity, and innovation.

“Making a successful luxury brand in nine years is genius. It’s a feat that I admire and hope to continue building upon with a rich legacy. He revolutionised streetwear and luxury that crosses generations and decades. He showed the world that the underrepresented, the underdogs and Black people, in particular, have brilliant minds and can push and compete equally in the establishment. He inspired hope and brought about change.” - Ibrahim Kamara, Art&Image Director Off-White™
